A native of New Jersey I spent my youth involved with arts and crafts in school and at home. I started painting with oils in high school where I began using my middle name, Simonne, as my pen name and after graduating I attended the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for one year where I did mono-printing and drawing. In 1978, I moved to San Francisco and then to Marin County, CA, where I started taking classes at The College of Marin in etching and watercolor. I married in 1989 and we had our first child in 1994 and another in 1997. This brought us to live in Petaluma, CA, where I took classes in drawing, pastel and watercolor at the Santa Rosa Junior College. My love of music and the journey it has taken me on, has inspired me to have musicians and dancers be the subjects of most of my work. Some of my works are landscape/nature paintings. Even though I work in color with watercolors, pastel and pencil, I am particularly fond of simple line drawings in pen or pencil. I was commissioned to create posters for three benefit shows at The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley from 2012-2014 for Friends Foundation International. I joined the Petaluma Arts Association in 2016 served as Secretary for one year then took on the role as President in 2018.
