Through my practice of Zen Buddhism my art comes into being. Watching my breath, the work unfolds and becomes my meditation. In Zen there is no duality, no conflict between the natural element of chance and the human element of control. The process is all. There is no goal to be attained.
Beginning in spontaneity, always embracing the controlled accident, my paintings are formed naturally, not only representing nature but being a work of nature. With the absence of symmetry, balancing form with emptiness and knowing when enough is said, I move into psychic automatism expressing all that I am and all that I will be.
